December 2008
A young man stayed with us during December after his mother assaulted him for re-establishing contact with his father. She kicked him out of home and told him not to return. This young man stayed with us for three nights before securing a place in a local hostel.
November 2008 With parents recently separated and wanting to sell the family home, a young man of 18 was asked to leave as the mother was moving out of the area and the father only had one bedroom accommodation. After sleeping rough for four nights, not knowing who to turn to, he was referred through to Nottingham Nightstop. This young man was very nervous and worried about his situation and staying with a family he didn’t know however settled in with the family and reported that he enjoyed his stay.
October 2008 A foreign university student contacted us after being a victim of fraud and was unable to pay his rent. He had tried to get a hardship loan through the university but due to circumstances around his nationality had been refused. He lost his accommodation and became homeless. This young man was extremely talented and desperately wanted to continue with his course and after staying with Nightstop hosts for a number of nights was able to work with other agencies to secure accommodation and continue with his studies. |
