Steve was holding down a full time job when he was introduced to Class A drugs. What began as a recreational use of drugs became an addiction. It resulted in a downward spiral in which Steve lost his job, his home, and eventually turned to crime to feed his habit. Eventually Steve was sent to jail – on his release he had nowhere to live and ended up on the streets. He returned to his drug habit. Steve began to visit Rally where he was given hot food, clothing and the support of an Aspire Mentor. As a result of that support, Steve is no longer taking drugs and has now got his own home. He says: ‘If it wasn’t for Rally, I more than likely would be dead by now because it’s the support, the help and obviously the food that’s probably kept me alive to this day, when I’m now in my own home.’
