Below are three cases studies of pupils positively affected by the REACH project:

A pupil was showing behavioural difficulties in one particular subject.  By spending time with the Reach worker, the root problem of the issues was discovered – a lack of understanding and confidence in their own ability, leading to embarrassment about getting things wrong.  The Reach worker has been able to assist with these issues, helping to build confidence.

One pupil was feeling depressed, not wanting to come to school.  She had a history of not attending school for months, due to similar feelings.  She asked to see the Reach Worker and has now had a number of one-to-one sessions with her.  The intervention has led to the girl staying in school, reporting feeling much happier.

A young person was scared to come into school as they had been threatened with a fight after school.  The Reach worker found out about this, contacted them at home and worked with them to bring them back into school.
