Saturday Serving is an exceptionally simple yet effective volunteer programme, working in some of Nottingham’s most disadvantaged neighbourhoods.

The initiative sees volunteers undertaking practical work at the home of families and individuals who need support in areas such as gardening or decorating.  

Over a number of years, our teams have been able to help, among others, pensioners, lone parents and refugees.  All equipment and most materials are normally provided by 58i.

The message of the project is simple – someone cares and is willing to help.  Our teams always take time to engage with those we serve, providing an opportunity to signpost them to other services that may be able to help.

We’ve found time and time again that by improving the home or garden of a client we’ve been able to have an impact on their wider outlook.
